Cognitive Behavioural Therapy makes a difference to patients who have to endure hours of dialysis every week, according to new research. Doctors in Brazil studied kidney patients who underwent CBT along with those who weren’t. Dialysis, which involves several hours a week of being hooked up to a blood cleansing machine, can be hard to take for many people, and lead to depression. Not surprisingly the patients who got the treatment reported better cognitive function and quality of life scores than those who didn’t. The release is published here.
