An artificial intelligence coaching system has been developed that will help carers of older adults with moderate dementia. So far the set up which involves a camera, computer and speakers has been coaching patients how to wash their hands. But the COACH system, described in the open access journal BMC Geriatrics, is already lessening the workload on often-overburdened carers.
