Dr Andrew Kemp

The oxytocin story may be more complex than we’ve thought, according to Sydney University’s Dr Andrew Kemp, who’s been reviewing the literature. The hormone may be more than a love drug, with some research linking it to negative emotions like envy and gloating. Dr Kemp thinks oxytocin’s role may be in moving people forward toward others.

He spoke to Bob Hughes recently about his unified theory of oxytocin and his work on how our hearts are affected by depression.
